Proper tree trimming and pruning are essential for the long-term health of your trees and the safety of your property. At Abel Professional Tree Service, we don’t just cut branches—we strategically prune to improve tree structure, promote healthier growth, and prevent disease. Our skilled arborists remove dead, diseased, or overgrown limbs that can pose a safety risk, ensuring proper airflow and sunlight penetration. This reduces the likelihood of broken branches during storms while enhancing the tree's aesthetic appeal. We tailor our pruning methods to each tree species, ensuring that we never over-prune and always work to encourage natural, healthy growth patterns. Whether you have towering oaks or ornamental shrubs, regular pruning can extend the life of your trees and make your property safer.
Tree removal is often a difficult decision, but it’s necessary when a tree becomes hazardous due to disease, storm damage, or old age. Our team at Abel Professional Tree Service specializes in safe and efficient tree removal for trees of all sizes and any location, even those near buildings or power lines. Using advanced techniques and equipment, we carefully dismantle the tree, minimizing risk to your property. Whether it's a diseased tree at risk of falling or a healthy tree that needs removal for construction, we’ll complete the job with precision. Additionally, we offer complete debris removal, so your property is left clean and ready for new use. Safety is our top priority during every removal, and our expertise ensures that even the most challenging jobs are handled efficiently and with care.
After tree removal, unsightly stumps can remain an eyesore and a potential hazard. Abel Professional Tree Service offers professional stump grinding services to completely remove stumps, preventing future tree regrowth and eliminating tripping risks. Our stump grinding process removes the stump well below ground level, allowing you to reclaim the space for landscaping or other projects. We use specialized grinders that ensure minimal impact on surrounding areas, making it a quick and clean process. Additionally, stump removal helps prevent pests like termites and ants from nesting in the decaying wood. Once the stump is gone, we offer options for replanting trees or grass, helping you restore your property’s beauty.

The area comprising what is now the city of Birmingham was part of land ceded by Native American tribes to the United States government by the 1807 Treaty of Detroit. However, settlement was delayed, first by the War of 1812. Afterward the Surveyor-General of the United States, Edward Tiffin, made an unfavorable report regarding the placement of Military Bounty Lands for veterans of the War of 1812. Tiffin's report claimed that, because of marsh, in this area "There would not be an acre out of a hundred, if there would be one out of a thousand that would, in any case, admit cultivation." In 1818, Territorial Governor Lewis Cass led a group of men along the Indian Trail. The governor's party discovered that the swamp was not as extensive as Tiffin had supposed. Not long after Cass issued a more encouraging report about the land, interest quickened as to its suitability for settlement.
